Default Gear Ratio and Diff type

Can anyone tell my what my factory gear ration is (or where to find it) and what Differentials I have. I am looking to change to deeper gears and need to know what I have and what Diffs are in my Ram. I think I have 3.55's but I have no clue what the Diffs are. I plan to get gears in the 4.30(ish) range.

2008 Ram 1500 WT series. Crew-Cab, Short bed, 4.7 Ltr V8, 6 Spd., 4x4

I am running 305/70x17's and the current gears are way too high and working my little V8 to death.

Any Suggestions.

Thanks All.

4:10's would be a nice ratio to use.

On your truck, there may be a sticker in the front driver door frame.

I have an older truck and found it on a sticker, on the underside of the hood.

If you PM me the last 8 of your VIN and approximate mileage, I can pull up your build codes from Chrysler and tell you what axle/diff's you have. There should be a tag on the diff cover that has your gear ratio on it.

Crawl under the back of your truck, there is a small metal plate on the differential that tells you what the gears are. You will have either 3.55's or 3.92's.

Did you buy the truck new? It will be on your window sticker. Some vehicles also have a list on the glove box door that will have the gear ratio on it.
