Default New Tires

I left the driveway this morning and just happened to notice that i had a flat...hmmm. Well all my tires were pretty much slicks so i decided to replace them all. I went with the Firestone Destination A/T. I had 265/70-17 but my new ones are 285/70-17. In the morning im going down to the shop to see how they fit and look. Guy said if i dont like them he will send them back and we will keep putting tires on it till i like what i get. Pretty good customer service id say. Let me know what yall think of these tires and ill try and get some pictures up soon.

Going from the 275s to 285s without lowering your tire height will lead to an incorrect speedometer reading. I haven't heard much about Firestone's truck tires, but I always thought their Firehawk Z-rated tires were pretty good.

How do you fix the speedometer reading?

I think you need a programmer for that, unless you can have it adjusted at the dealership. I'm certain Remerson would know.

The 285's will be a little bigger then the 275's, about " which is nothing that is really going to make noticeable changes to your speedometer. When my truck was at the stock height I changed from the 275's to 295/70/17's with no issues with rubbing or clearance.

The dealer plugged into the computer and changed the settings for the tire size and the speedo was right on.
Now, I have a programmer and can do that myself.

Thats pretty interesting that they'll do that for ya . Most of the time they say "once their mounted their yours" . They can't break them down and resell them as new tires to someone else . Programmer is one way . I do think anyone with a scanner (like my snap-on scanner) is capable also .

There's a local tire dealer here that does that. I believe they say if you don't like them within 2 weeks, you can bring them back.

The place I go to is like that as well, only they give you 30 days to decide if you like them or not.
