Thanks!!

Well, the dampener I ordered showed up today,,, (looks just like yours, soward!) I'd say it's pretty much 'solid' inside vs. 'full of BB's"

Maybe an internal weight incased in urethane,,,,

MFG in 2006!

Whether or not I put it on myself kinda depends on how many 'chores' I have to do this weekend,,, (That, and figuring in how much I hate dropping off/picking up vehicles!)

Regardless if 'mine' goes on by my own hand, or if I end up taking the truck in, I'll still contact the SM to keep her 'in the loop'

Awesome, Good for you Houston.

I have been sitting back and reading this and waiting.

Mine has just started to occasionally reveal this irritating vibration.

It only started after 3k miles though.

I have crawled all over under and and poled into everything I could reach thinking something was coming loose.

So I am going to order the dampener too.

Thanks guys for the research and tenacity to ferret this out.

Mohawk

I have a 2010 Laramie with 4600 miles on it...took it to the dealer a month ago with loud whirling noise underneath cab near trani...they said it was resonating fromshort block and engineers could not figure it out...so they responded with putting a new short block in and offered an extended warranty...it was good for about a day and it started up again...it is annoying and i doubt the vehicles performance all the time. Has anyone heard of this? I am thinking of getting out of the truck even though I love eveything else about it.

First off, welcome to the forum, we're glad to have you here! I've never heard of anything like that. Are there any other dealers in your area you can take it to? If so, I'd probably take that route.

I can't thank you guys enough, as I have had my 2010 SLT Hemi Crew Cab in to the dealer for the same noise at 4500 miles. It now has 9500 miles and the noise is driving me nuts. I printed out all the information and going to make another appointment. Thanks again!

I have read and re-read these posts and still confused... not sure if the noise I have is the same...I am trying to pin down a rattle type noise when the truck is in over drive and turning at about 1500rpm. If I take it out of overdrive, the noise goes away. It sounds like two pieces of metal hitting each other or a loose exhaust pipe it's a high pitch type of noise, I have been under the truck many times and have banged on every part there is. The dealer can find it and it really its really starting to tick me off... any help or ideas would be awesome...thanks. Is this this the same type of noise you guys were getting???
