Default Paint cracking

I was waxing the roof of my truck last week and noticed the paint is cracking. I wonder if it has anything to do with the roof being so flexible and it stressed the paint. The thing is I bought my truck Jan 7 2007 so my warraty expires next week. I took it in yesterday and they are repainting the roof. Which is good because I had 2 deep scratches from a cat. Anyone else have this happen?

If you get a chance, could you post a pic? This really sucks man, a 2007 is not that old for the paint to be cracking. It's a good thing you caught it before the warranty expired.

it's def not the clear coat. Yeah, I'll try and take some. It's kinda hard to see anyway because of it being black.

My truck is 12 years old now, and it is cracking under the hood, Not sure why there, the heat? Everywhere else it seems to be fine. Very weird to have a truck as new as yours doing that.

thats why I was wondering if it had to do with the roof being so flexible. Or maybe the paint was extra think in that location and it was able to crack with the roof moving. No idea why, but glad I caught it with a week to go.

Definately, I would also agree that the clear coat is fine. I see you live in FL, I wonder if the rays from the sun affect that? and the pretty warm temperatures? I'm from WA, so I wouldn't know, just a theory.

I have the same issue, except I have it on the side of the box. Really sucks because I will have to pay out of pocket for it. Stupid cold weather and salt ruining my day....

I've got a few cracking spots on my roof as well, and it's smooth, so it's not the clear coat, but the paint for sure.
