Well, depending on your truck's age, it may take this:

1. Wash well. Dry
2. Claybar
3. Wash again. Dry
4. Wax
5. Polish

There's some good websites on detailing paint out there.

Good process to follow. I think the lighting in that pics helps too. My truck definately looks better in low light.

Yeah I've been reading a lot of websites on how to detail the truck like the mothers, meguiars, autogeek, and a few others. It would take me like 2 days to do all those steps maddog.

Yeah...it's a weekend project, lamateo76, if ya start early both days...LOL

There is a process some shops use to bring out the paint in those dull areas I've seen done.

One other step may be a slight cut and buff with some mild abrasive rubbing compound to get out the light scratches and swirls.

If ya gotta do that too, add another day.

I prefer the Meguiars products for the claybar and wax but for the final polish, Zaino is awesome!

So far the only thing i've done is wash, wax, and spray wax. The paint feel really smooth and I don't feel any roughness when I rub my hand on it. I've been considering a random orbital polisher to make application a little faster. By the time I'm done applying and buffing the wax, my shoulders feel like jello.

It's definately a weekend project. When I wax, I apply with a power buffer, except on the hood since it's textured. Saves on the shoulder ache Just remember, if you want a wicked shine, don't forget to wet sand and polish it to REALLY make it glow!

Wet sand??? I don't know about that. I think stuff like that I'd rather leave to a pro.
