I don't want to stir up any more trouble here, but I do want to make a comment. I want to turn my chime off because I don't want to wear my seat belt OR listen to the chime while I'm driving around my property at < 5 mph or trying to hitch up a trailer. There are many reasons to want to turn the chime off that don't involve driving down the road at highway speeds.

I refuse to wear my seatbelt when I'm on a frozen lake. I love my Ram but I'm not going down with it it that should happen. As for the rest of the time I wear it and I taught my kids to wear it. Good thing too because last weekend she rolled our Liberty end for end with two young children with her at highway speed (100km/hr, 60mph) then hit a rock cut and ended up on the roof. Everyone walked away with minor bruises and scraps. It pays to wear your seat belt. I agree it should be a personal choice but then there would be a whole lot more injuries and deaths. Up here it's the Law so I obey it.

I agree, when I get out to check the mail and then drive thru the neighborhood, I don’t like hearing that chime, speed limit is 10 mph I do 8 mph.

Other than that I wear my seat belt on the road.

Simple question simple answer.

I agree with Bruce E. We drive on frozen lakes to go ice fishing the chiming is pretty annoying after a while. I wear it every other time.

I work for a funeral home. I can tell you that we've picked up people who WERE and those who were NOT wearing seat belts. But that debate is not what brought me here.

I DO wear my seat belt. But when I come home from work and check my mail, I don't put it on while rolling up my long driveway. Or when I'm cruising at 15 MPH across the pasture. I want to disable mine because it's annoying during those times.
