There are many reasons to want to turn the chime off that don't involve driving down the road at highway speeds.
I disabled mine a few days after I bought it. I don't think I Will ever re-enable it.

Funny thing is if I drive home from my mail box without my belt on and the chimes go off my remote start wont work next time.

.

I disabled my seltbelt alarm, not because I don't want to wear the seat belt on the
road, but because I don't want to wear it while plowing my driveway at a speed of 5
mph. And I don't need a reminder. I would never think of driving on the road without
the belt on.

I had fun reading the first few pages of this post. Whether you disable the post or not, I would not recommend admitting that you have disabled your chime on this post in the event that you die and the life insurance company determines that you were so cavalier in assuming the risk of driving without a belt to deny your family's claim.

If I'm wearing the seatbelt during the accident my insurance company isn't going to care if the chime doesn't work.

Thanks!! But no, I didn't paint them. It's a base ST Quad Cab
and it didn't have the chrome bumpers.
