Are you talking about an engine build???

If so, I suggest a forged 408 stroker based on the Magnum block. Run ya about $4K to $4.5K and you can re-use your TBI, sensors, accessory drives, etc...Add an aluminum intake manifold, some headers and a custom flash and yer good to about 400 HP.

Add another $750 to $1K and go wild with aluminum ported heads and some other trick parts and you'll see something North of 470 HP.

good god. Like a ton of money. lol. sounds like next years tax refund. I my wife approves it. I was thinking about quick cheaper just more horse power to my 5.9 motor. I am eventually wanting the big dog motor though.

Start with the basics since these things can carry over to a bigger motor. Headers with a true dual exhaust, CAI and a tuner will likely yield the most bang for the buck.

The tuner is the same as programmer? Is it something easy I can do?

Yes, the tuner is also the programmer. There are 2 types that do pretty much the same thing. A flash programmer will actually change the spark curve, air/ fuel mixture etc (program) by changing the factory ECM (flash). or you can buy them that wire in between the ECM and sensors and modify (pirate) the factory signals without changing the factory program. Both are very quick and easy to do with no tools or dirt under your fingernails. They claim 5 -15 min to install either one and up to 25hp gains. I've found them as cheap as like $50 to $400 on e-bay. I don't know if this is a you get what you pay for deal but would like to hear from experienced installers if they are or not. If your wife, budget & plans call for a blown 408 stroker, 5.13 gears & 44" swampers you may want to look into the $400 tuners. They allow for more options and upgrades. If your a little more budget minded a less expensive one ought to be fine.
