Default Ball joints?

How much harder is it to replace my ball joints in my 4x4 compared to a 2wd?
I went to get an alighnment today. They showed me my upper and lower ball joints on the passenger side. both were very loose. They wanted around 300.00 to replace. That is just for that side. I changed the lower ball joints on my 94 camaro, but tire plus said it is alot harder on a 4x4.
I got a 00 dodge ram 1500 4x4, 5.9L, no lift kit or leveling kit.

They are definately among the most difficult out there to do because the bearings are notoriously difficult to remove and they are often destroyed in the process.

so more then likely I need to just have a shop do it. Now they told me the driver side was not that bad. But should I do them anyway while they are at it?
