The best cam depends on what you're looking to accomplish. Original specs aren't really going to help you much in that decision.

i plan on getting the bottom end rebuilt and bored over .60 and port match the heads for the intake and headers. a procharger is in its future as well.

i want a good power range cause i do sometimes tow and drive daily. Choppy idle will be nice also.

You're going to want to look at a cam that's designed for a blower then. Crane, Comp, Lunati, Isky and several other companies have what you're looking for. Your best bet would be to call Jegs and Summit and other places like that and talk to their tech reps and get several opinions from them on lift, duration and overlap considerations.

you are going 60 over with FI? You better invest in a healthy methane kit!
Your walls are going to be very thin and that's a lot of compression/heat!
recipe for headache.

But stock specs for cam...here ya go...

(about half way down)

I have the same question about a cam, but no supercharger. I drive it 1-2 times a week around town. I have a 101k mile stock truck wanting some more get up and go, but more than what a CAI, tuner and exhaust will do. What kind of $$$ will a cam and install costs? Since my truck is only worth about $7000 on private party if it's too expensive, I think it would be cheaper to simply trade up for a new model with a Hemi. ??

Ask yourself which is cheaper and what you'd rather have. Getting a truck with a Hemi is an instant 100 HP gain in stock configuration. Now figure up what it would cost to squeeze another 100 ponies out of your 5.9. Would you rather keep the body style truck you have or move up a generation or two?

Have you looked at the software from Comp cams? I think its called Cam Quest or something like that. It will make the cam selection much easier.
