Watch your local autopart store specials and sales flyers. Here is the recent one from Advance Auto, with this, and buying the extra 2 quarts, you can do a Mobile 1 oil and filter change for less than $50.

Been using the Amsoil, Royal Purple, Mobil1, and Castrol, in a 5/20 for 20k now. As you can tell, I've done my change intervals every 5k. All have been good but noticed more noise with Castrol and a bit higher engine oil temps. I would like to try the Pennz Platinum next to compare.

Anything that is 5W-20 that is recommended for MDS. I use conventional and change it every 4,000 miles. Have only used synthetic in my crotch rocket. Never had issues with conventional. I also don't change my own oil and don't want to spend the extra bucks on synthetic. I think regular scheduled maintenance will far extend the life of your truck, rather than oil type, but that is just my experience.
