The only reason I got a Hemi 'head's up' regarding filters was because I tried to read all I could about Hemi's (especially the 09's) in forums like this one.

I just got my first Dodge (09 ram 1500) in December '09, so I've got a LOT to learn!

Just bought the NAPA gold so i have a proper filter for my first oil change, still a ways off. Anyway the filter number was 7899. I wanted to make sure they gave me the correct filter so I did some online checking. Came across the attached news bulletin. Better make sure you put the correct filter on the new RAMS, the words disengagement/detachment are used should the wrong filter be used.

I just put a WIX filter on mine. I made a little mess but I can deal with it.

See? I told you it'd fit!"

LOL!!

Removing the oil filter is not bad, or hard, if you have the right tools.
