i think that i should mention this too... idk if it is related but.. there is no visible oil leak anywhere on the truck. i just changed the oil to full synthetic...not even 5 months ago...(mid september) and when i go around a corner really hard or stomp the brake or even if it is sitting on a slight incline the check gauges light comes on and the oil gauge drops to none for about 1-2 sec then goes back to normal. it has done this before and i changed the oil and it stopped doing it. i checked the oil and the oil was right at the midway between full and empty line but the truck had been running for about an hour. i know for a fact that the oil level after i changed the oil was perfect while the engine was cool. could the oil leak possibly be the culprit for this too if there is in fact a bad gasket?

If you're using that much oil, your intake pan gasket is probably blown. I've posted in a thread on how to diagnose it but I'll have to find it. http://www.ramforumz.com/showthread....409#post133409

Randy,
Please post the repair procedure for replacing the pan gasket. My 99 has all the symptoms of a bad intake gasket.
Thanks
