Default Attn Kindle owners!

I am seriously considering getting an electronic book reader. I have been looking at them, comparing them, especially the Kindle and the Nook. As of now, I am leaning towards the Kindle. Space is at a premium living with my dad and I LOVE to read!

Would like opinions and thoughts from those of you who have these. Pros, cons? Things you wish you had thought of before you got one?

Good luck with your choice. I've never considered them. I read a lot and keep a fairly large collection of hardbacks here at home. I do have room for quite a few books here.

I shuttle a lot of hardback and paperbacks in and out of the house, using local book exchanges.

When I moved I kept only the books I couldn't bear to part with (3 boxes full). At first I poo pooed the idea of a book reader but I have to be realistic. I have no room in the house for books and in storage they will get ruined. I need to get plastic boxes for the ones I have out there now.

The Nook you can lend books out (providing the recipient has a Nook too), Kindle you can't. The ebooks are a little cheaper on Barnes & Noble as opposed to Amazon.

The one big negative factor with the Nook that has me holding back is the complaints of the page turn, it takes upwards to 4 seconds, which would suck if you were mid sentence. Kindle is instant.

Oh decisions, decisions!

The Kindle 2 does a lot of stuff. I haven't thought about buying one and I don't know anyone that has one but it's a pretty cool idea.

We were just up in Grande Prarie to my gf's best friend for new years. She'd been given an iBook, and i think I'm gonna be picking one up myself. The refresh rate was phenominal, and there was no delay when 'flipping' pages. I'd be interested to see what they come out with if they're updating it.

they are supposed to be releasing an updated version that is "real-time". nook and kindle may have been the first but it's hard to compete with any Apple product.

ya get what ya pay for and Apple is pretty much as good as it gets with computer devices.

Not sure about that....on my 2nd iPod already! But they do make nice stuff. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg to support Steve Jobs! LOL
