Default A few choices, help me decide

OK, so I'm considering a 2001 dodge ram with the sport package as my next vehicle.. and i have a few questions regarding sound system options..

Ideally, I want a powered sub that I can just hook up to the already-installed aftermarket CD Player. My ideas are as follows..

Infinity BassLink (version 1 or 2)
Bazooka Tube (not sure what size)
MTX X thunderlink XT110P (looks like the infinity)
a cheap all-in-one type kit that has a sub, truck box, amp, and wiring kit

Of the first three, which would you guys prefer, and which one fits best in the space between the seats and back wall? I'll probably end up getting the 4th though, because I've had 2 different systems like this from wal-mart (one was a lightning audio, and the other was visonik, but with a big box).. I never really had any complaints about those, and they were easy to get (didn't have to order online)

Actually, I just looked at a nice Kicker unit, already mounted in a box, ready for an amp that would fit nicely in your cab. You might check out their equipment.

Quad cab or regular cab? Though I am not a fan of the "all-in-one" systems, it would help us offer recommendations.

i hooked up a basslink in my reg cab, and was very upset with the sound...research the products and read revies before you purchase. while the basslink slams in my buddys civic hatch, it was terrible in my ram

regular cab.. sorry, I thought I noted that.

I'd say that $300 is my budget.. I know its not much, but I know I can get what I'm looking for in that price range.. Like I said before, I'm not wanting something to show off.. I just want to add a little low end to the system..

I would have considered just getting the rear speakers replaced with some component woofers, but since they're only 5 1/4" (according to crutchfield), I don't think I'd get enough low end..

jjhwick, is it possible that you had a bad egg? or some loose wiring somewhere? I've read nothing but good stuff about the basslink, except from those who are really wanting thousand dollar systems, in which the basslink doesn't offer enough output..

plus, I wonder if it makes a difference if the basslink is in the cab (sharing the same air space as the listener) vs in the trunk? sort of like comparing an open-air sub to an enclosed one...

Hmmmm... with that budget you do have the option of looking into a nice 10" (such as the Boston Acoustics G3 or JBL GTO), enclosure, and an amp. Would provide more bang for the same amount of money.

Noticed a few "all-in-one" units that might fit under each seat. Would that be an option?

Looks like Kenwood, JVC, and Clarion manufacture these smaller bass creators.
