Question General Grabber AT II

I'm starting to get close to needing new rubber for my truck and I want a decent AT tire that will last with proper car and won't break the bank when I buy them. I've done a fair amount of research and so far the most bang for the buck seems like it will come from the General Grabber AT II. Reviews on them are good and they have a 60k rating. My cost on them will be about $120 each (I'll mount and road force balance them myself). My question is does anyone have any experience with these tires and what are your thoughts?

Yes! Great tire. I ran them on a 1985 Blazer and they gave me great service. I didn't quite get 60K miles out of them but rain, snow or dry they did a good job.

Just don't plan on busting any drifts or doing any rock crawling with them.

I don't plan to. Like most people, 95% of my driving is on road but I want good off road and snow traction. The reviews all say these tires are very good, especially for the price and that their only pitfall is mud but, I don't expect exceptional mud performance from an AT.

Not sure about the Generals but just for reference im going with the Hercules Traildiggers. Over here (Canada) there very affordable and I heard good things about them. I paid $235/tire CAN tax in. Might be cheaper for you there although those tires your looking at seem pretty damn cheap for you to buy

Im just going to toss these Hercs on and give them a go. I say if you can get them cheap enough then throw them on and see how they do. You wont know how good they are until you yourself have them on... right

Anyways dont know if you checked them out here but here ya go!

The Herc is a good looking tire, but I don't go enough places off road that require more than an AT. The reason I'm getting such a good price on the Generals is that I'll be getting them from our distributor at the dealership price - maybe even lower if I go to them and pay cash.

I have heard good things about General Tires lately. The tread pattern seems to closely resemble the BFGoodrich All Terrain.

Check out www.tirerack.com and enter your info . See what they have . They have a excellent tire spec sheet on the tires they sell . Might find something else that will catch your eye .

That's where I initially found the AT II.

Hey,

I wont be off-roading at all but I wanted something aggressive I was looking at the hercs and the Cooper sst. The coopers were my first choice but they were currently on back order here and I could have the hercs within a day through my cousins shop. He gave them to me at his cost so it was sweet. But ya according to that tire review site those Generals seem like an excellent choice

Tirerack is an awesome site..... ive been using that as reference every since ive heard of it on here. It seems like the most affordable.... unless of course your lucky enough to get them at cost
