I haven't noticed any significant mpg gains after doing this mod. But I cannot discredit modding the TB. I have gained without a doubt quicker throttle response at low end and I definately can hear the difference after doing this mod.
Unfortunatley, mileage gains will probably never get better for me because I've got the 5.9 and they were not made with fuel economy in mind.
As far as modding the TB, I'd do it again. One less restriction that allows air to flow easier is a huge positive in my opinion.

Gained 3mpg recently... engine is much quicker in response time. Was worried at 1st... have noticed truck idle's 200 rpm's lower now which is nice

im hoping it doesnt cause my truck to idle high like some others experienced, but it seems like a easy fix if it does. should I go ahead and replace the throttle body gasket? and what is the best way to clean the tb? I know its probley got tons of gunk on it from before the plenum gasket was fixed...

YES, Defenitley replace the tb gasket. You can use a throttle body cleaner spray or use Seafoam
