Will this mod be the same for the LA motor in an '89?

one purpose of the air horns is to reduce intake noise, as they make these engines to satisfy everyone, and not everybody likes a whistling and sucking sound, can't understand why not..LOL.........should not have any long term issues, but your warranty might suffer if you had a TB related issue

Another reason of the walls and air horns are to keep the air-cleaner housing sitting in it's place. If I can manage to have the air-cleaner housing in place, this mod sound like great fun. I'm all for hearing a large vacuum sound from my engine.

Hey all, after reading these threads I decided to search Holley's web site for replacement throttle bodies. I found the exact same thing that is being explained in this thread. They call it their "High Flow t.b." But.... this 1 cost $450 so i think this is a good cheap mod check it out at holley.com part number 112-555 it is pretty cool

Nice Thread!! Great job with the visual aids. Pictures really helps with this seemingly simple walk through. I am really considering picking up a TB from a 5.9L in a junk yard and doing this mod for my 318! Bigger TB with the new and improved air flow. Sounds good to me, I think it will work well with the Mods already in place and the ones I plan on adding. Two thumbs up

This mod sounds very interesting. I may have to pass it on to a few of my other fellow Dodge owners and see if someone wants to try it on their truck first.
