I very much appreciate the information. I will complete a good cleaning of the parts and see how that turns out. The truck has had three tuneups over the time I have owned it...but I know nothing has ever been cleaned on the engine, except for what I have done and I have never cleaned the throttle body. I am crossing my fingers. Thanks to all and if it isn't too annoying, I shall post my results. Have a great weekend everyone. Tony

Good morning All.

Sorry for the delay. I cleaned the butterflies and the linkage. They were rather dirty. I also noted when I went to unclip the cover that two of the metal clips holding the cover to the engine had come loose. The cover was loose even before I touched the remaining clips. However, once the cleaning had take place, the truck started, still with a bit of a longer crank, and ran fine. I place the truck in gear and it did not stall. Good news there. I drove it around the neighborhood and it was fine. So at least it doesn't stall any longer. When I parked in the driveway though...and placed the truck in park, and gassed it a bit, the truck sounded normal and throaty, per usual, but then went down to a very low idle and almost felt like it was going to stall, then it recovered a bit to more of a normal idle rpm. I still think something is wrong with the truck, just because of the length of time it takes to crank the engine to start. Again...it is just a bit longer than normal. However now that low idle after giving it some gas while parked is another concern.

Other than completing the cleaning I just did...anyone have further ideas or should a trip to the Dealership definitely be on my "to do" list? Thanks to All.

Give it some time to relearn the idle strategy with the clean throttle body. If it doesn't change soon, you may want to have it looked at. BTW, has it had a tune up and PCV valve put in lately?

Hi Randy. It has had three tuneups and the last one was two years ago. I have put on around 4,000 miles on the truck in those two years. The PCV valve has never been replaced. The truck has never had any mechanical issues before. The last tune-up was by my local Dodge Dealership and they noted to me the truck was in great shape mechanically.
