Default Stiffer Springs - Thinking about changing to TRX Springs and Shocks

I have an '09 Ram ST and when I load my ATV and trail gear in it, It sags quite a bit more than I would like.

The suspension is super soft and has a great ride but at times I wish it was stiffer.

My Brothers Hemi powered 2010 Ram TRX does have a stiffer ride to it. I am going to look his springs and shocks over this weekend to see if there is any difference between the two.

If they are the same, I am considering ordering his springs and shocks (2010 TRX) and swapping mine out.

Does anyone have any sugestions?

I don't know much about them, but I think there are kits out there to add air bags to your current suspension that will decrease the sagging and let you keep your current springs. Hopefully somebody that has used something like this can chime in.

That was my idea too, rather than firming up the springs which will result in a harsher ride, I'd install a set of helper 'bags, easy to install and handy when hauling heavy loads.

The TRX also comes with a sturdier suspension stock, so your brother's TRX won't sag as much when loaded as your ST would.

After looking at your truck I got to thinking, do you have a hemi or better yet do you have the trailer towing package? I have the ST like yours with the trailer towing package, 3.92 and hemi. That being said I'm wondering if we have the same suspension...just wondering, I don't know? Mine seems to be fine...Ive trailered 5k+ and I've carried truck many loads of lumber. One Load in general that was wet and heavy 8' treated fence post loaded to the side rails and didn't come close to even leveling it which I thought would. And that's with the tail gate open to accommodate for the 8' sticking out over the bed. Maybe there is a difference..I don't know, but if so maybe you can up your suspension with some of the towing package. I'm going to look into this because you've got me curious now. I don't like my ride stiff like it is but deal with it..I'll get back here when I find something out.

I have the 4.7 with 3.92s and the tow package, My ATV weighs in around 700lbs and I am probably loading another 150 to 200lbs of gear in the bed with it. So we are probably talking about close to 900lbs in the bed.

I was working on mine yesterday and noticed the part number tag is still on my springs. I didnt write the numbers down but it will at least give me a place to start.

From looking on the Mopar parts page, I am starting to think that the different cab (standard, extended, and 4 door), engine, and 2 or 4 wheel drive, have specific springs assigned to them. Therefore my truck, as standard cab long bed with the 4.7 will have stiffer springs than the same truck with the 6 cylinder. If that is true then the same truck with a Hemi should have stiffer springs.

This is going to require a great deal of home work and I appreciate the help.

Thanks for the help!

Not as much homework as you might think. If I had the last 8 of the VIN and mileage of your and your brothers trucks, I could pull the build codes and see if the springs are different.
