Angry Caution to 5th wheel owners

I just got my new hitch installed in my '10 yesterday. My existing slider hitch would not work with the new 2010 design with the springs in the back. The dealer gaurenteed me that my ols slider would work. I was right there when he called the manufacturer. Needless to say, it didn't. I went with a new Reese. The dealer split the cost 50/50.I was told with my old one all I would need is new brakets, but the RV installer said it conflicts with the new rear spring set up. Double check or you could shell out anothr 1400 for a new hitch.

Bummer! Glad they figured it out, though.

My old hitch was a Hijacker 15k, the new one was the Reese 16k. The difference was the slider plates on my hijacker ran parallel with the frame, the Rees is not.

I would call to confirm, I read through the manual, nothing on there about either the 09 / 10, crew cab. THey will give you an honest answer, or take it into the shop to get it installed, they will know right away.

BTW, if youre an oilers fan, I have ordered up a custom tailgate emblem, color matched to the truck, it might be a few weeks to get it from the States, but I will post it when it arrives. This is the idea, all the white will be chrome.
