does anybody know if you can use the factory sirius antenna with an aftermarket radio?

Yes and no.

Ive heard both. Ive heard that the factory one has a different plug in and needs an adapter.

Ive also heard it wont work and is easier to just run your own. I dont recommend it but ive seen shops just hide the antenna in the dash.

what do you mean by "ive got it auxillaried to the back no biggy" are you using the factory antenna on the aftermarket radio? please advise.

I have a 2008 ram, and no you cant, tried it didn't work, had to by the module from crutchfield for 60.00 but then you get 50.00 rebate form Sirius!

You can disconnect the Sirius antenna from the stock Sirius "box" that is behind the glove box, easily modify the plug to fit in to the new aftermarket tuner... And you can still plug it back in to the original Sirius on the truck if you need.

I plan on doing this when I do my install, and running my GPS module under the center speaker grille in the dash since that space is empty for me.

I did run my Sirius antenna on the front of my dash in my Canyon for 2 years and never had an issue doing it that way. If you run the wires cleanly it's hardly noticeable.
