I'll defer all those questions to the resident experts, as I've never done a 4.7. I'll say this much: as long as you are asking questions, you're in good shape. When you decide you don't need any more help, you're probably gonna get in trouble.

In the case of the 4.7 you lay the cam in and then working incrementally in a pattern you tighten the bolts down. you can make reference marks on the old cams to align it.

With 118,000 miles on it . I would consider purchasing a timing chain kit and replace chain , guides , sprockets and be done with it .

You will definitely need headers and a full exhaust after the cam install.
Probably still get outrun by the 5.7 Hemi....
