Default AEM same as Mopar CAI

I purchased the AEM CAI from an online store... $305.00, free shipping. Shop around, I did and saved some $$$. AEM is the company that produces Mopars intake for these trucks and it is basically identical. The filter is grey instead of blue, the intake tube can be ordered in gun metal grey (this is the one I got) or polished, and of coarse no Mopar stickers it (I can buy some of those myself). Here is the big difference, its the same black powder coated air box, but this one is already factory welded together, no nuts or bolts to hold it together... just bolt it in! Took me about 2 hours.
As soon as I can figure out how to upload pictures to this site I'll post some.
Good luck shopping!

Stupid question but do these things seal against the hood and suck air from the lower inner fender or do you have to have the challenger hood for them to work properly?... My concern is that with the open top and no challenger hood all I will be doing is sucking hot air from under the hood?

I have one installed. The open part you see has a thick rubber seal on top that contacts the insulation on the inside of the hood, thus not letting hot air thru the top.
