Question Thread resurection - Q re the need to remove fender Liner

I Just got this kit from the main Stealer ($560 CA ) I have now found it cheaper on line but that's another story as too late to take it back. I have watched both the Air Raid & the K&N install videos, why do theirs install without having to remove the liner yet the mopar filter requires you to remove the liner??

I believe the wheel well liner needs to be removed in order to mount the the intake housing/box to the wheel well.

Ah, where as the other manufacturers use the other mounts within the engine bay, so im figuring I can just not use that particular mount and bend it out of the way as I can't be fussed taking the liner out. Ill see how it looks at the weekend when I should find time to do it. If it looks workable i'll do it if not, then the fender liner will have to be removed I guess.

Excellent step by step! I read it over before I installed my CAI. And that air sensor was a bear to get out. I ended up spraying it with WD40 tp help it wiggle out. I was able to get it without using pliers. I was too paranoid that I might break it. The install was pretty straight forward. Removing and reinstalling the fender liner was time consuming. And that hose that attaches to the bottom back of the metal tube almost made me quit. But I finally got it.Now I can hear the Hemi growl when I gas it hard. That with a Flowmaster 40 muffler has awakened the beast. Thanks again for the detailed post.

Thank you so much for your post I just got mine and wanted to install it... but no instructions so what I thought would be a 30 min install turned into a cus fest. So now back to the garage to get it installed.
