Default Hit and run :'(

So, Sunday night the wife beat me home from work and we have a standing rule in our house which basically states that whomever picks up the kids and gets home first parks in the garage. This is of course to ease of unloading kids instead of hauling em up our steeeeeeeeeeeeppppp driveway. I parked in the street in front of our house as I often do. Monday morning I head out to the truck to head to work and..... THE DRIVER-SIDE DOOR WON'T OPEN! I stepped back thinking wtf?! and notice the driver's side front fender is caved in!! Some a$$hat backed out of my neighbor's house across the street and hit my baby!! Needless to say I was LIVID. After much screaming and door slamming I calmed down enough to got speak to the neighbor (I did of course look for the offending vehicle while I was there). She told me they had a lot of people at their house the night before and that someone may have backed into me but she didn't know who. She would "call around" and see if anyone owned up to it. Of course, to date I've not seen hide nor hair of my neighbors and I'm pretty sure they are avoiding me like the plague. Fortunately I do have full coverage and I'm pretty sure this'll get covered under my uninsured motorist clause. I can't believe that after two years of babying my truck and parking out in the sticks at Wal-mart I get horribly smashed in front of my own dang house I'll post before and after picks of the damage and the fix soon if anyone's interested. The ding doesn't look that bad at a glance but it basically flattened the fender so it spread out and slid back about an inch or so into the doorway so for now I'm climbing in and out of the passenger side and scooting across.

Man, it's too bad that folks won't own up to their own responsibilities.

It can be fixed.

Unfortunately one of the down sides of living in Memphis too is that approximately 70% of the people on the road have no insurance here. At least that's what I've heard. Whoever it was most likely doesn't have insurance or the money to pay for it anyway.

God that would really piss me off. Ask that lady for names and addresses. Did you file a police report?

Some damn people! I gotta believe the neighboors know who it was, probably should have filed a police report, then they would have question the neighboors and got some names and addresses.

I actually did file a police report, however, they would only file a non-investigative report as it happened over night and I can't prove that there are any witnesses. I also didn't witness it myself so all the MPD would do is file the report for my insurance purposes :-/
