Default Best way to sell 2002?

I need to sell our white 2002 Quad cab 4.7 with just under 100k miles. My son put in a custom sound system. But he also put a few dents and scrapes on it. I'd rather not spend 6 or 700 dollars to fix the cosmetics. I have it up on Craigslist for $7100 but am getting no action. We're in the Dallas area.

Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Barry

How bad are the dents and scrapes? That sounds like a fair price if it isn't too bad. Post up the link to the ad or some pictures so we can see.

Heh, I'll fly down there now and drive it home AND beat his offer by $50!

In all seriousness, it would help if we could see what we're judging. Do you have maintenance records and such too?

Is it 4x4, does it have tow mirrors, bed liner of any kind, are you the only owner, service records, any mods other than sound, life on the tires, and a pic would help alot. But without looking at it, sounds like a good price depending on the severity of body damage. I agree with jjhwick119 expand beyond craigslist and hit up autotrader and cars.com. Good luck and let us know how its going.

I agree...expand your marketing, uses lots of pics in the ads, understand that it's some tough times to be selling a truck these days...new or used!

Actually trucks are still selling surprisingly strong. They have held their values better then most cars recently. Most 'buy here pay here' car lots are saying they can't hold onto trucks right now, getting sold off right away.

Default link and info

Here is the link to the Craigslist ad. I do have it on Vehix as well but they only allow 1 pic for a free ad.

We are the second owner. The first guy actually put the Hemi letters (don't know the proper term) on the side. I was instantly suspicious ... opened the hood and found a 4.7! Hmmmm... But it does have a flowmaster exhaust and K&N airfilter. There is a big scrape on the drivers side. Think my son sideswiped a pipe or pole. He won't talk about it since I took it away from him. Oh, my son removed all of the letters and decals. He also put blue lights underneath but they are not working for some reason .. probably a short.

I would debadge all the phoney badges (HEMI) if your son hasnt' already. I would also repost it it since the posting is about 19 days old. It might not come up on the first page if you search, making it less likely people will view it. I would try and get the underbody neons working and see if you can pop that dent out, I don't know if the paint cracked on it or not, but it might not be too difficult to get out. Otherwise it looks to be a good price. Is it a 4WD? If so you will want to mention that in the ad. Hopefully you'll find a buyer soon. I know the feeling as it took me a little longer than I wanted to sell my car on CL.

Zack, did you ever go look at that truck over the weekend? or did you look into any of those other ones? Hopefully you get one soon.
