yeah from my own experience with JL they are very nice, but I'm not trying to drop almost $200 on something that $90ish can match lol

well I think I'm gonna pull the trigger on the Dayton 4" 8ohms even tho they are rated at 30 watts and they'll be getting 75 unless anyone has some other suggestions

Is that JL rated at 75 watts at 8-ohm? If not they may only get about 35 watts from that amp, which would be perfect. The 8-ohm RS100 I used only saw about 35 watts and sounded absolutely fantastic.

was that with a HD900/5? it's rated at 100 from 1.5-3ohms and 75 at 4ohms so I guess they would only get about 35 if they were 8ohms

Nice! I liked running 8-ohms with my system before, never had to worry about amps overheating.

anyone used either of these midbass:

Cadence
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...ence_XM84.aspx

Soundstream
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...m_SST-804.aspx

Boss Audio

I've also been reading other custom installs and wondering if maybe instead of putting 4's in the dash I should get some kickpanel enclosures and put some 5.25 comps in...thoughts?

I hadn't seen that Kenwood unit before. Looks like a pretty sharp piece!

Alot of people swear by those kick panels. Puts the maximum distance between the listeners.

I have the Q-Logic kicks in mine, fits great and really no E-brake issues either....

so apparently usautosport.com falsely advertises the products they carry....so no zr800's yet. in the mean time I'm lookin for suggestions on what components to get for my kick panels. I'm leanin towards a 3-way with the 4" in the dash but let me know what yall like in our trucks
