I just got my first mod for my truck today and I just got a Helix Power Tower Plus TB spacer with an Airaid CAI. It was a couple hundos and I probably shouldn't have spent it because I'm leaving for school in a couple of days and know I will be strapped for cash come Spring Break time, but the truck definitely responds faster and it's a little hard to keep your foot off the gas.

Remember, good and cheap don't mix. Fast, Reliable, Cheap. Pick 3. I would say spend the cash on a tuner, make or buy a good CAI, and get the exhaust done. Those are the best ways to start adding a little power. Major builds cost major money though.

For Cheap HP, clean your TB and maybe run synthetic oil. Seafoam your engine maybe. Don't expect more than 5hp with all of those.

For about 100 bucks you could make your own cold air intake.

For about 250 you can get a legitimate one.

for 250 you can get an aftermarket muffler installed at a shop.

For 300+ you could get a programmer/chip.

However... if you are experienced with vehicles, you could buy an aftermarket camshaft from 120-300 bucks. Gotta make sure its super mild. If it is very rough, you will have to upgrade various things, but you can expect tremendous gains.

Wermbang...I checked the old threads about your DIY CAI, but I couldn't find any of the pics. Can you send me a link or attachments?

I'm sinking my money into coil, cap, rotors, wires, ignition and new fluids from head to toe before spending big bucks elsewhere. I'm guessing a little tlc and love will improve performance from 100k stock truck.

The link above that I posted has pics in it. They take a little time to load.
If they don't work I have it in a word doc, just pm your email to me.

I got a CAI off of Ebay for under $100 shipped. Big pipe, got 1.5mpg bump in mileage. Agree above, exhaust and programmer. You can never go wrong with basic maintenance though, start with the basics. Remember to use copper core plugs if you do those.
