Default o2 sensor problem on cat bypass

Hi, this is my first post and I have come here because I have hit a brick wall.

I just got done installing the OBX header and hi-flo cat kit.

These headers are long so they came with their own hi-flo cats which really aren't cats at all. After much pain and suffering (extending o2 sensors, welding no clamped parts, wrong bolt assembly) we got everything on working.

When starting the truck the engine light did not come on. But I took a 100 mile drive and then it kicked on, and damn did the exhaust wreak.

My guess is that the sensors after the cat received too much fuel and sent messages to the computer to lean it out. Now its running like crap and spewing fumes.

How can I fix this? Can I get a computer that I can sort of compensate a percentage on the lean signal or am I screwed? Very disappointed.

I have to drive this to California in 2 weeks so I either need to aleviate this or pull it off.

Please help and thank you in advance.

Welcome to the forum! I can't answer your question but some of the other guys will. It would help them to know the details of your truck such as year, model, and engine. If you go to the USER CP and enter your trucks details, then you won't have to repeat that part when ever you make a post. You could also go to the New User section and introduce yourself. Got pics of your truck? We'd love to see them.

Good luck with your problem.

Well, the first thing to do is to be sure what your O2 voltages and fuel trims look like.

There is a way . Try putting your after cat O2 sensors in the pipe after you install a set of anti-foulers in the pipe first . By doing this takes the sensor out of the exhaust stream .
