Default Help with lift kits!

Hi, I have an 06 RAM 1500 Sport 4x4 QC, and i want to go with the 6'' fabtech suspension lift along with a 3'' inch body lift, i talked to a guy from performance lifts.com, and he said that i can install both kits with nothing else required, but wont i need some steering components or something? or something for my driveshaft? its cause i dont think i can lift it 9 inches total without touching my driveshaft right ? i want to stick some 37's on there aswell and i wanted to know if i got both kits and installed them out of the box i could just drive away after its done? nothing else needed? thanks

Doing the 3" body lift doesn't effect the driveshaft . Your lifting the body off the frame . 6" suspension lift ? If they say your fine , then go with it .

Since your truck is long enough you shouldnt need a new shaft after a 6" lift. As for the body lift if you can avoid doing it then by all means dont put it in, as you will have a nasty 3" gap between your frame rails and the cab, plus a slighty accident or even some harsh roads can be enough for the cab to shift. 3" space between body and frame being secured by a grade 8 bolt doesnt take much to shif tthe body, stick to an inch or 1 1/2" BL at most.

I think that you may need to lengthen the steering column and you probably need a wheel alignment afterwards also.

Possibly might need to lengthen the coloumn witht he BL, but most full lifts will come with proper steering corrections light a drop pitman arm etc to correct that, but yes an alignment is a must after any type of spring/coil lift

i know this doesnt answer your question but, I personally would not get the 3" body lift. From personal experience I have just found it to be unsatisfying. I think that a 6" suspension lift is plenty and will look great. The body lift seems to just move things to make it harder, such as the engine will drop in the hood, nerf bars will have to be specially made, and a couple other little annoying things. 6" suspension is plenty for almost any street legal wheels. So in my opinion, I'd say just go with that.
