Question Changing oil in 4.7L

Maybe I'm beating a dead horse here, but I've read that the 4.7L engines are notorious for oil foaming issues if not changed frequently(3k-4k). I have a 2010 Ram and I've just hit 2K. I will be changing the oil about 3K because its new. I plan on running synthetic(unless someone has a good reason not to) so will it still be necessary to change as often? I know its not supposed to be, but I guess what am saying is, will I have the foaming issues with synthetic oil?

Change the oil and filter every 5K or so with synthetic and you can't go wrong. I've never heard of any foaming issues though.

Ok, so this is the first i have heard of foaming issues and have a 4.7 in my 07 quad cab. I have only had the truck around a month and was not aware of any issues like this. Can anyone elaborate on this?

Foaming issues? News to me. I follow the regimen Randy recommends, and everything seems just hunky-dory. 5k is a sufficient interval for most driving conditions.

I havent heard of the foaming issues either. I have heard about the 4.7 sludge problems. Cant go wrong with a good synthetic and a high quality filter changed every 5-6,000 miles. Also, dont forget the PCV valve every 20,000 or so.

Maybe it was sludging I read about, poor terminology on my part. I guess my main question was how often to change the oil with a synthetic oil. I have a buddy that runs 10K but that seemed like a lot even with synthetic to me

Most all sludge problems stem from poor low quality oil. ALL Chrysler products require oil that is ILSAC GF-4 rated. Personally I use Mobil 1 synthetic.
