i love good dogs, they calm your nerves, lower your blood pressure, make you almost forget about your arthritis
i had a golden retriever, best dog in the world as far as i'm concerned, but it was male & liked to stick its nose up female skirts
my mother got rid of it while i was away on vacation
i should tell you, some of her customers were not happy when they picked up their Stanley Home Products good doggie

That's one stylin' pooch c5, glad all went well! I am down to one dog now, lost my long haired Dachshund a couple weeks ago, he was 15-16, so I guess it was time, but still tough, but man Snowman, that sucks, beautiful dog you have. Had to explain to someone across the street the other day that there is a leash law where I live after his Pit Bull took off across the street after my rat terrier!

Snowman, sorry to see your dog got attacked. Wouldn't be a bad a idea to carry a dog repellant spray and a stick when you walk your dog. Here in Miami the animal services are pretty good about getting loose dogs off the streets. And you're dog is a german shepherd, what kind of dogs attacked him?

Was a Cane Corso(rare breed, like Pitt Bull but the size of a Mastiff), another German Shepherd and some mixed breed. The Cane Corso had a death grip on my dog when i finally got the upper hand and dominated the dog, other dogs took off real quick.

Wow, Snowman, sorry to hear your pup was attacked by some strays, but glad your pup is ok, and same with you. I agree with MightyBlueRam you should carry some pepper spray with you just in case of strays.

CajunDodge, I hate reading things like this. This is why Pitt's and other larger protective dogs get a bad rep. Cause some owner couldn't abide by the laws, or even spend the time to train their dog. Then when they do something like this it gives the breed even more of a bad rep.

C5, with your pup getting older and having arthritis have you ever thought of giving him baby aspirin? This would help with his aches and pains. If you done feel comfortable giving him baby aspirin, check out Springtime Inc Fresh Factors. I have given these to my Rottweiler's after a friend of mine told me about them. She had a 14 year old Rottie who had hip dysplasia and arthritis, so he got bad, wouldn't even get up to go out. Her vet told her about the fresh factors, so she tried them, within one week he was acting like a 16 month old pup. I was amazed, and I recommend it to anyone with an older dog.

I agree with you BadInfluence, thank goodness I happened to be outside, but was on the phone and trying to get a washing machine in the house, too. Fortunately, the guy got his dog before anything stupid happened, but some folks around here want to have a pit bull just so they can say they have one, nothing to do with having a faithful protective and TRAINED companion!
