Default CB Radio Install on Gen 2 Ram

I am looking to install the CB I have in my 01 Ram, but I cant decide where to put it. So I want to see some ideas of where some of you put your CB's. Also if you have any pics of the install that would be great thanks.

first of all, is your CB a small radio, like a 510XL, or larger, like the Cobra29***,
& does it have the microphone connection on the front or the side

the truck that i just sold didn't have any handy place to mount a CB, so i used some 1/2 inch CDX plywood & made a handy box, then i bought some thin carpet material & stapled it to the plywood. if you look closely, the top of the box lifts off, allowing my to change out radios in about 5 minutes

1 now have a 2009 Ram & i put a 10 meter band radio that has been converted to work as a CB, i won't say how many watts that i am now running, but, there is a place that works well on this truck, i'm sure Dodge would cringe, I put a cooling fan under the CB, had to do a bit of minor cutting mostly into a plate on the console, to allow the side mounted microphones connection

I've got an 06, and going to take out the center flip seat and put in a full console. I plan on integrating a CB also. Then a rear tv for my kids to watch DVDs.

Hauser775: a good place to put your CB in your truck would be under the cup holders, thats how i installed my brothers... the only 2 down sides i found were, i put one of the screws for the bracket into the swinging arm for the cup holder ( ooppss ) and with the large CB he has the cup holder tray wont fold out all the way ( but still works )

^^thats where my friend put his, kinda only place the 2nd gen will allow, but I didn't really like the way it looked to much. another one of my friends had a broken upholder on his 2nd gen so he just took it out and mounted the cb in it's place.

^^ I as well am looking to put one in my truck for use of communicating with my buddies while I'm at college and on the way home. thinking I'm gonna make some kind of box like what gt Yankee did. my cup holder is messed up and iv gotten used to holding my drinks between my legs or something so might just make a box that fits right under the drink holder so that if my gf wants to sit in the middle seat next to me there is still room for her feet there.

idk, im pretty pleased the way it looks, i guess maybe a big part of it is what CB u put in.

thats what i put mine in for SFA1500, but none of us were ever on at the same time lol... but its still somthing cool to have. and very useful if you go on a road trip with a friend who has one in there car/truck. also useful if ur ever in a tight spot
