Okay... here it is. My 1998 Dodge Ram with the long anticapted 3.5" spindle, single shock front stabilizer lift kit in it with the 33" Herc Traildigger mudders on 16" Ion Alloy rims!
So heres the splur.... the new "correct" shock showed up at the shop Wednesday. The guy happened to be the sales rep for National 4WD and apologized for the 3 month rim ordeal and wrong shock mistake. He took my cousins buisness card, switched the shocks and now we can order direct to National and it will be delivered to the shop!! (Damn im going to be broke lol).
Anyways I pulled the truck in the shop Friday and left to go to the hockey game.....Conclusion.....Sabres beat Boston 2-1...Zdeno Chara is a monster in real life.
I meet my cousin Saturday morning at 9am at the shop and we walk in. HE already cut the old srpings out, installed the new ones, has the new rotors and pads installed and tells me he torched the old link pins out and had ordered and installed new Moog ones with BLUE rubber bushings... all after 5 oclock on a Friday night..... Is he not the man or what ??
(The guy is pretty much a brother to me and it was awesome to see the front wheel losely fitted on the truck when we walked in.. although i wanted to be there for the spring install etc)
So I thanked him and we took the wheels back off and installed the shocks, front stabilizer, rear block kit and shocks together giving each other help whenever. TOTAL time from Friday night and Saturday was 6.5 hours stopping in between to relax, reflect and play with the dogs haha. We were completely done and outside by 1:30pm. The truck rides like a brand new truck, it is unbelievable the difference in ride and how the truck rolls and handles. By the way my stock shocks were completely blown, one spring was broken near the bottom and my rotors were grooved and chewed.
(Im not one to ignore this stuff so with that said I already knew everything was on there way out if not worn out its just that I was waiting for the kit to come in to do it all which we all know took forever...remember everything we replaced besides rotors and pads were the original parts installed on the truck.)
Alright here they are... some of the pictures I took during install and after... ENJOY!!
