Hello and welcome!

Glad you joined us! Looks like you have been getting some good feedback. I too wonder why you would get rid of the BMW for a truck that has been sitting for a year. What kind of shape is the body in? Things to think about and how much money are you willing to sing into it compared to what you have now!
Enjoy the site!

I have an 88 1/2 ton short box 4x4 that will be getting a big block 400 this summer and it will be well worth the time and money spent, just make up your mind that you want to do it and do it.

Thanks everyone for responding.

I have'nt had a chance to take a really good look at the body yet, just what I can see from the road. . . rust on the bottom of the doors, dents in the box. He said he put the motor in a year ago; if it's a magnum 318, what's the horsepower and torque numbers? What about non-magnum 318?

How difficult is it to lower these trucks, nothing exotic, maybe 3/5" drop.

He only wants $350 for the truck, I'm thinking I'll offer $200, see what happens.

Hey 300addict. . . your in Barrie? I'm close to Coldwater on Hwy 12, not too far from you.

Duane

Hello Duane and welcome to RamForumZ, glad you joined us here! From the sound of it, this truck would be a cool project truck. I had an '81 D150 I just sold year before last, 318, 727 transmission, lightly modded for performance, but all in all, absoulutely loved my truck, and when I first saw it, it was ugly as heck, too, but it grew on me, the missing grille just became character haha, but that truck was rock solid and never left me stranded anywhere, so I got my $300 purchase price worth out of it. My thoughts have already been mentioned, but I say as long as it's not in too bad of shape, I say go for it, but I'm slightly biased, lol because I really like the older Ram's, but good luck and be sure to keep us posted! I hope you enjoy the board!
