Default Air / Fuel

hey guys i tried installing an air/fuel guage into my ram and it dosn't work. we found that the o2 sensor reads 0-5v instead of the normal 0-1v. Now is there any way to add a resistor or something to the line so it can read 0-1v?

All the new chryslers are doing this now with the 0-5v. So if anyone can help or have any suggestions that would be great!!!

Which gauge did you get? I am looking into it but the one I'm familiar with for Air/Fuel is designed to read 0-5v

In all of my previous vehicles I have had an Aeroforce Interceptor and plan to use one in this truck some day. They are a bit pricey but it can read and data log pretty much any parameter that the computer reads. It can't read A/F on it's own but you can hook it up and it reads 0-5v

I'll take a look. The only thing is I want to keep it since I have a 3 guage piller put in with 3 autometer phantom 2 guages.

I have to try and figure out a way to make the thing work and read 0-1 instead 0-5

I need a resistor or something from the o2 sensor to the guage to bring it down to 0-1 from 0-5

Hopefully somebody corrects me if I'm wrong but I believe the difference is in the sensor. 0-5v is a wide band sensor, and 0-1v is a narrow band sensor. Might be as simple as swapping for a narrow band sensor but I don't know if that will mess with the ECU or not.

You need a Widebnd 02 sensor for an Air/Fuel reader to work

I hear the wideband air/fuel guage is a pain to install too

yes i agree with above. The autometer gauge you have is designed to read narrow band O2 sensors (0-1V). You need a gauge designed to read wideband O2 sensors. There is no way to convert them that I know of. Even if you did it would only be 0-1v, and not nearly as accurate as a wideband. I have both the aem wideband and zeitronix zt-2. Zeitronix is hands down a better unit. Way more features. Not that difficult to install at all if you have the hole drilled and bung welded in your exhaust already.
