it all depends on how much you do

i put 14 sq ft on each of my doors, 52 on my floor, 10ish on back wall, and 10ish on roof in my single cab

my doors are completely covered, floor is double-triple layered in some places, and back wall and roof are double layered

It definitely takes quite a bit. Unfortunately I haven't gone through the whole cab yet, but jjhwick and dodgeman have. My front two doors did take about 14 sq ft each also.

And now his truck weights exactly 889 pounds more...

I did my Chrysler last summer. Did the whole trunk and used about 32 sq ft with some wastage...it really made a difference!!!

I did my doors with rammat from rammaudio and bought the ensolite foam to put over top. Did the outer and inner layers of the door metal and helped but Im not sure you need to cover every sq. inch of metal either, although im sure some will argue but I saw a video of a guy with a peice of bare metal 4"x4" and hit it, normal tin can sound. Then put deadaner material over 25% of it and hit it, sounded quiet. Covered it 100% , hit it and it sounded the same as the peice with 25% coverage. The arguement was if you cover more than 25% you are wasting material. I wouldnt agree with 25% but I think 100% might be overkill, although thats what I did. The biggest reduction in sound came from putting the ensolite glued to the interior of the door panels themselves, I did this last so im sure its a combo of doing it all but that was the most dramatic noise reduction I noticed. So much that I am going to take some of my dash apart and start putting it on the backside of it as the dash is just a peice of plastic, plus my glove box rattles.

Yes it does make a big difference. I think the floor is important too, in order to eliminate road noise. If you open your door (in my 04 at least) and look past the hinge where the front fender is opened up you can see some cheap foam material that is in there and I think a lot of road noise comes from that too, I have a good bit of both materials left and Im going to try to work on the fron fender areas come spring and take out the cheap foam they have in there now.
