Default 05 Ram turning on OEM head unit with aux channel on Viper

Hello all,
I seem to be baffled a bit and hoping that someone might have run into this in the past. I am adding a Viper 5904 remote start/alarm and I am using one of the channels set to latch/reset with ignition to turn on the stereo. Problem is.. I interupted the ign. wire with a relay as I always have in the past and when the relay is triggered, the radio does not turn on. If... if I use my LED driven test light (yes I know.. bad but im still a little old school) and probe the white/purple wire on the radio harness at the same time the radio comes on and playes great. I have done this feature 100's of times on other cars.. but this truck seems to be resister crazy.. any ideas? thanks in advance

p.s. Any other info on using the Xpress Kit DBALL would be great as well!
