Exclamation Pictures of transmission cooler/tow package? (see pictures in post)

I just got this truck. I think I have the towing package. Can someone verify for me please. I have never seen the radiator area of a dodge ram before. Also, What class trailer hitch do I have? The sticker on it is ineligible. It is a round steel tube bolted to the frame. My truck also has a 7-pin wiring plug next to the tag area, and a 4-pin wiring plug hanging behind the bumper.

Yes. My shifter has the button on it. I'm planning on towing a u-haul vehicle trailer with a crown victoria on it and I was wondering if that is ok with my truck or would it be better to use a tow dolly. The drive is about 200 miles.

I towed a enclosed trailer with a mustang race car it in from Toronto Canada toWatkins Glen race track with my 07 Ram. I have the same tow package you have there. I have the hidden hitch on my truck. I think your should be ok. I also used the Uhal open trailer and towed the same car to......I forget haha. The truck was light in the front with the big trailer but I made it. This was before all the mods ive done to the truck, so it was bone stock when I towed

Ok. Would doing the pull with the 4.7L motor cause any problems or should I be good to go?

Agreed, yes, you have the trailer tow package, and you should have a class IV (extra heavy duty) hitch, so I don't see a problem with you towing a trailer with your car on it, but if someone else can think of a reason why it wouldn't work, feel free to correct me.

I've pulled loads of 6000-6800 pounds with my '02 4.7 (with tow package) with no problems. I was disappointed in the available power, but it pulls fine.

I've pulled cars on both a trailer and a dolly, either is fine as long as you get the setup correct. If using a trailer, pull the car just far enough forward on it to cause your truck's rear bumper to just start to dip - no more than an inch or so. That will make the trailer's load balanced in the right zone for pulling - won't make the front of the truck light. If you use a dolly, keep in mind you won't be able to back up with it attached. You'll have to make sure you can always pull forward in parking lots, etc.

Uhaul trailers are notorious for being heavy. Might want to consider that when deciding whether to use a trailer or dolly.

Good point silvereagle98, especially about the weight of the U-Haul trailers, they are pretty heavy. Last time I used one of their trailers, I was towing my old truck out here but it was hooked up to the moving van so difficult to feel.

You should be fine. Just listen to your truck....when going up grades use your towing option on the shifter. Drops the tran down for towing up hill.
