Default MP3 files on HDD placed in "unknown"

Hi,

I just uploaded some 30 cd's to the hard drive and found I was 'missing' some of them after it had finished. These cd's were placed in the "unknown" folder and I can't figure out why. All my cd's were copied from my iTunes folder (I'm a Mac, well user anyway) and I checked the tags with another program but can't find anything wrong....

Has anyone else had this problem? I searched the forums but couldn't find anything. My system has got the latest updates so that should be good.

Please excuse me if my English is not always correct as I live in Europe, The Netherlands to be exact. I just bought my first Ram 1500 (2009) one month ago and can't begin to describe how happy I am with it!

Jeroen

Hello Jeroen, I ran into similar troubles as you on mine. When I copied mp3's to my hdd, they wouldn't index correctly. When I copied music cd's, they would index just fine. When I say music cd, I mean the original cd bought from the store, not a cd that you created on your Mac. You could try organizing the music into individual folders with the artists name on the folder and transferring with a USB thumb drive. I have found that to work pretty well.

If the music you're missing is newer, you may need a Gracenote update.

The strange thing is that I already do it this way. Music is organized in folders and I transfer them with a usb stick. Haven't tried the artist name as folder name yet, gonna give it a go and let you know....
