Default Remote start availability

So , I go and trade in my 2500 cummings for a 1500 hemi(didn't need a diesel anymore) Love the truck so far,all I want is my remote start,First time i took it back to the dealer they call me @ 3:30 and tell me its a remote start for a 2009. That was Feb 1 I called on2/17 and was told that the reorder wont be released from the vendor until March 1. I have been waiting for this since I bought the truck in mid december. I am tired of hearing that its all due to the bankruptcy,I am Thinking that my dealers parts dept is full of it.

My questions;

What is the difference between a 2009 and a 2010 remote start?
Any idea of delivery time from the vendor(2 1/2 months seems a little long to me)
Any good recommendations on where to buy one?(Factory)

Thanks

The bankruptcy has slowed down parts and accessories flow considerably. While some vendors have picked back up, others are still behind.

You guys are great my first post and the dealer called! Must be scared LOL
They called me to let me know that the date they had given me is no longer good. They will call me when the RKE's are available.
I just want my $'s back at this point.

Thanks for listening

Hey Zorbo the difference in the 2009 and 2010 is the hood pin switch on a 2009 it mounted in a bracket in the front by the grille on your 2010 its built into the hood latch but the keys, WCM, and antenna are the same. there's 29 dealers across the U.S. that stock that remote start kit I would try another dealer it sounds like there not in the customer service business.....

Hey....just curious, can you have a remote start on the 6.7 diesels? If so I would love to have that.

We can factory order the remote start for the diesal here in Canada, but they have no range or confirmation on the remote pod, I opted for the jobber start on my new truck, about 600.00 Can. installed

Do they stall on the start of the engine so the intake heater light goes out or does it matter with these new engines?
