Default Shocks for 2004 off road

Some websites make me choose the off road package, then they offer nothing for it. Others dont have an option for the off road package and offer some shocks but then under application notes it say standard suspension. Anyone with an off road change their shocks out? Stock hieght also.

No not yet , I'm still running the factory orange shocks . I have a 2" lift and mine are almost fully extended . I am going to contact Edelbrock I think and see what they have to offer me . All my parts books list all except Off Road .

One would think but so far it doesnt appear that way. One site I went to was shock warehouse and they made me choose the option, then offered nothing, pretty big site devoted to just shocks makes me think twice when on other sites. Im going to call Bilstein and check with them.

Just read this :

The Off-Road package adds 17-inch aluminum wheels and off-road tires, the 3.92 rear axle, a limited-slip differential, transfer case skid plates, skid plates for the front axles and unique shocks to the vehicle. The package also includes tow hooks, fog lamps, a heavy-duty cooling system and "Off-Road" badging.

and unique shocks to the vehicle...wow that explains almost nothing, but they thought it was worth mentioning.

Maybe the "unique" shocks are because of the metal dust guard? My 03" has the red ones. And are the the mono tube ones? Do they have different gas? What does a non off road come with? I was thinking of ordering the Rough Country+3" shocks lift shocks and they recommend to get the Nitrogen Gas filled ones instead of the basic ones for "Off Road" vehicles for and extra $5 each shock. Maybe it's the gas?

Im really not sure. Mine has the red shocks too, no clue on the gas in them. All shocks.com doesnt give an option for off road package so Im starting to think they just put a little beefier/stiffer shock on the off road package but nothing in regards to ride hieght is different.

If they are the right extended lecght then I would get whatever you want. When i get mine I will just make sure that they are longer than stock. The nitrogen is going to absorb better than you average shock.

If you go to the dodge website and make your own the off road models only have 3.92 as an option
