Default Throttle Body Spacers

I have a 2005 Ram 1500 with the 5.7 Hemi, I have been looking into putting on a mopar CAI system . Should I also install a throttle body spacer? I have read more bad then good with the throttle spacer.

I know that the Ram is probably different but on our 08' Challenger, we have been told and researched it to be totally pointless. But that might be because of other mods we have lined up or already in place..... Diablo Trinity tuner, CAI ..... I hoped this help.

Just my opinion but, I wouldn't waste my money on another one. I put one on a '98 Ram and couldn't tell a bit of difference. Only thing it did was cause alignment problems with my CAI.

I did a lot of searching for reviews and articles on throttle body spacers and all the manufacturers promise great gains and all the independent articles and purchases had mostly bad things to say. A lot of people complain about the hissing/whistle sound after installing the spacer. I wouldn't buy it.

^^ Agreed. Unless you're planning on running a wet nitrous system in the future, a TBS is completely useless.

I've got a TB Spaces on my '08 Hemi... the only reason that I installed it, was that it came with my CAI, and alignment/ fitment wasn't quite right without it.

I haven't noticed that it's done anything good or bad.

I'd save the $$$ and put it towards a mod that will make a difference.

just my opinion

I always found humor in people who say ya "Gotta have smooth, straight, airflow in your intake tube" and then the same person uses a TBS, which serves no purpose other than to 'swirl' your air around and create turbulence inside the manifold,,,

Port injected engines will not gain anything from 'swirling' your air around inside the manifold.

The only intake system that 'might' gain anything,,, (a BIG 'might', at that) is a throttle body injector system. A TBS would have the same effect as a 'Tornado' would have on a carb motor,,, (pretty much Nada!)

Yep, all the 'big names' are promising ya extra HP with these TBS's,,,,

Aren't the same 'big names' also promising you extra HP with a CAI, too????

Something to think about,,,,

Not worth the money, IMHO. I'd save the $ for another mod that will make a difference!
