Banzai, this is what my original question was, who makes a set of light assemblies that can be swapped out to give more light. I assume based off of your response that answer is; No one. Is this true, there aren't any projectors manufactured right now for the 4th gen trucks??

If there aren't any, then I will likely wait myself, but the lights on these trucks is terrible, so we will see how long I can put up with it.

without the projector you have no cut off line, no aiming of the light, which means the dispersment is EVERYWHERE no jus right in front of you. we already have an issue with our lights in peoples rearviews, if you do HIDs in the stock housing, people will try and run you off the road!

Wait until someone comes out with projector headlights for the new gen rams, which is what i am doing. if you want a different color or light or even brighter lights, please just get some silverstars..

HIDs should never be used without projectors!! haha
The quad beam headlights on my truck have the the light deflector in side the housing which causes the HID light to be beamed back towards the inside of the headlight and then out to the street. When I had them in they looked just like the factory buld just brighter.

did you compare them at night infront of a garage??

if you do this, you will probably see a lot of spill over and the light being higher. As i said, it may look cooler for us, but because we drive trucks we have to be aware of how this affects people coming at us and the people we are following.

Can you turn them both on, which is equiv to high beam correct?? Don't want to lose my standard high beam capability. You basically have to use the rotary switch to go from high to low beam.
I really would love to replace the entire housing with an aftermarket set-up that has much better lighting. I am still looking, but am not smart on Light upgrades, so things are going slow.
yep you got it. no high beam. but who needs high beams when u got hids? i can just flash my lights if i ever need to like flash someone....and as for your boy saying dont use hids without projectors....idk where he lives but in louisiana where i live....EVERYONE runs hids without projectors. and the light cut off is just like stock if you put the bulbs in correctly. its just the light is five times brighter...ive installed over 100 kits cuz i sell them...and its brought nothing but joy to my people. lol.

I had Flashtec HID's installed last year on my 2003 Ram 2500. I pulled my 31' 5th wheel from Florida to the Canadian border traveling 13000 miles through the Tug hill and endless mountains . .I had zero problems and zero conflict with oncoming vehicles . But whenever I used the HID's along with the fog/running lights I did get negative feed back from oncoming problems . I have after market Halogen fog lights and have then wired to function as DRL's .I have a toggle over ride switch and turn the Fog lights off when using the HID's . I had the install done @ the local auto elect shop for $45 .

as someone who used to drive a low vehicle (saturn ion 3) i can tell you from experience that the trucks with HIDs and no projectors pissed me off ALL the time, im just glad i had dark tint on the front windows or the guys behind me woulda bugged me too..

but when one was coming at me, i was not impressed.
