2000 Ram 2500 is on a distinguished road
Default 2000 Ram 2500 5.9 4x4 No start

Hey guys,
I'd appreciate any help you can lend me. Truck sat for a few weeks covered in snow. Once the snow melted I tried to start it to go to work one day and it would just crank and not run. Pulled the plugs....they were all fouled. Replaced them with new Champions, Fired right up. No problems since. Untill this morning. Fired right up and drove about 4 miles and died. Had to get the truck and trailer towed back home. Truck has 85k on it. Is in very good shape. Got it homw and puled the plugs. Look fine. Checked spark at the coil-good. At the plug wires-good. Checked fuel pressure. Good. Checked injector pulse. Injectors are firing and you can see the fuel shooting from the cylinders when you spin it over with the plugs out. Took a fuel sample. Fuel is perfect. This is the only Dodge I have. All my other vehicles are Fords. I was a Ford dealer Tech for well over a decade. Im saying this so that you guys know im knowledgable. Could this be a ECT or IAT issue? I did check Voltage reference and return to and from the Map sensor. Havent checked the ECT or IAT yet. Kinda stumped here and was wondering if there is something simple that im missing or a common problem that would cause a no start condition with fuel and spark present. Any help would be greatly appreciated....

Did it have any codes stored in the PCM? I'm curious about the IAC motor, too. Might want to pull it out and clean it and the throttle body.

No it doesnt have any codes. I thought of the IAC. Problem with that is that it should fire right up with the pedal depressed if the IAC was stuck closed. Thanks for the feedback. I will have a look at it while im in there....

You would think so but stranger things have happened. Can you pull any live data and check the IAC counts, CMP signal and that sort of thing?

Does it even have a CMP? If so where is it? I have no way to datalog. If I did i'd probably be able to figure this out. I may just bite the bullet and have someone look at it. Not something I ever do, you know....?

Thats what I thought. It uses the distibutor stator. It wouldnt have injector fire or spark if that was the problem. Thanks for the diagram.... I really appreciate your thoughts on this
