Default Annoying buzzer

I want to get that annoying ass buzzer out of the truck asap! lol.
Its the buzzer that comes on when the key is in the ignition and the door is open.

I know where it is in the fuse box in the dash, its about an inch wide and 2.5 inches long and held on by some clip. I cant get the thing out if my life depended on it cause its so hard to get up where it is with any tool.

If you know how to get it out or know an alternative to disabling the buzzer I would love to know it!

don't unplug the plug to it. They purposely wired other stuff through it. Mine was unplugged when I got the truck (I didn't know it), and my intermittent wipers, cruise control, and a couple other things all didn't work.

Now, if you could find the buzzer itself, which is obviously in the dash somewhere, you could probably cut the wire to it...but, to be honest, I've no ideea of its whereabouts.

Well I found this black box looking thing and whenever I push on it the buzzer will change its volume and sound like it was all from me pushing on it, so i think it was the buzzer that i found but not sure.

Default Annoying Buzzer

I have a 97, obviously Ram 1500 with the 5.9, and I have been trying all week to find the stupid buzzer that buzzes when you have the key in and doors open. Anyone know where it is so I can yank it out?

Since I see you're new here, welcome to the forum! I'm not sure where the actual "buzzer" is located, but the button to shut it off is usually right inside the door on the hinge side. What you might could try instead of pulling it out haha, is push the button in and tape the heck out of it, so it doesn't come on when the door is open. I'm sure someone will be along shortly who may have a better answer, but that's what I would do. BTW, we had a thread on this already, so I put yours here with this one! Good luck and when you get a chance, stop by the Newbie Checkin and introduce yourself and get your official Ram Z welcome!

well, after learning a lot, I now know that the buzzer is inside the central timer module which controls all of your interior electronics, from your stereo to your remote control.
So, don't unplug it...lol

But, supposedly, you could take the box apart and cut the wire to the buzzer itself. You have to be careful what you cut, though.

Yeah, they've integrated a lot of the cab electronics into modules, making it hard if not impossible to isolate specific functions.

Welcome to the forum.

gotta love the manufacturers way of doing things....I know they used to have just a fuse, but looked all over for it and didn't find one to kill the buzzing. I don't mind the one that buzzes then stops when you turn the truck on, but the other is annoying. I don't want to just cut off or tape the door switch as it controls the interior lights which I want to turn on when I open the doors lol. I'll hafta mess with it over the weekend and see what I can figure out. Thanks guys!

I've got the same problem with my 98 Ram. I think the problem is in the ignition key
switch. There must be something in the switch that activates the chime when the key
is in the ignition, in the OFF position, and the door is opened.
I'm gonna go talk to someone at a Dodge dealer, and find out if they know how to fix
the problem.
I'll post anything I find out.

What my problem is, the chime goes off when I open the drivers door and keeps going
until I put the key in the ignition. Thats not what it's supposed to do........
