Default 53rd state

Ok title may seam a bit strange but this happened to me on tuesday this week. Bit of Rail Fanning or Train Spotting as its known here.
I decided to head out to do some shopping at a town not far from me. While i was looking for a place to park down by the railway it struck me that the yard and me and my surroundings was like i was over your way. Then to top it off the sign that was behind me. Check the pics, Bear in mind this is Warrington UK, rail yard and shopping center.

General Motors Class 59

General Motors Class 66 Livery EWS ( Winconsion Central )

General Electric Class 70 (our newest class)

American Built Coal Wagons with Knuckle type connection
American Golf

My Dodge Ram
And Krispy Kreme

I thought it was quiet amazing and not to mension all the american cars and trucks i had seen on the way there lol haha

My mother is from Southampton. Been to the UK twice, loved it both times. It was odd seeing American trucks there, didn't see them too often. Why the FL tag?

That class 66 does look to have identical paint to WC's F45s.

Back in the day, before WC was sold to CN, the parent company had a lot of overseas railroads in pocket. I didn't think there were any in the UK, though. If there was, that might explain it.

Now that I look, it appears that EWS was a subsidiary of WC. Think that's the ticket right there.

cool pics

not the type of locomotives that I'm used to... still think I prefer the ones that we've got with the "nose"... it's something to absorb the impact when we hit some idiot....

I'm used to running GE AC4400s, GM 4400ACEs, and the new "Evolution" type engines.. we've pretty much phased out most of our "SD" or DC voltage engines.. not sure what those use

wow must be awesome driving those beasts, Only the class 70 here is ac traction, its new here same with that dynamic breaking god knows how that works something to with the engine its self breaking.
I must admit the class 70 is the uglyest loco we have and the 66 is just too common here now, some of our older locos like the class 37 have a nose and they are awesome class but age is not on there side.
the new class 70 there is our most powerful class at 3700hp.
