Default Gas Mileage

Hey Can anyone help me with gas mileage issues? I recently purchased a 2006 Ram 1500 Mega Cab Laramie, which previous owner had aftermarket 20" wheels put on it, I've re calibrated speedo, but am only getting about 9mpg. This just seems way off to me. I cam from driving a Silverado which when towing my trailer got better than this. Im not sure if it had its 30k tune-up, would that affect gas mileage to the tune of 3 to 4 mpg?(been told i should b getting around 12mpg). Any help would be appreciated....Keith

I would definitely look into that tune-up. (air filter, spark plugs, maybe seafoam?)

MADDOG says he's only getting 9 or so with his megacab 1500. I'm sure a tune up wouldn't hurt though.

MADDOG has some pretty big tires on his, so his may differ slightly (assuming Keith's tires aren't as big as MADDOG's)

My Tires are 305/50/20 nitto grapplers if that makes any difference, what about the pcv valve? does that need to be changed with the tune up too?

Well that does seem like a low MPG. I am getting aroun 12MPG in my quad cab. I have 305/55/20 tires on my truck. I also took my MDS off which stops the 4cylinder switch over.

A tune-up never hurts!

Im sitting at 49500k not sure if previous owner did the 30k tuneup so I may start there, and try the seafoam as well, does anyone have a particular spark plug in mind that works better than the cheap mopar champions?
