Default letter from chrysler

I got a letter in the mail from Chrysler stating that there was a problem with the blinker control system a manufacture defect. I called up my local dodge dealer and they said if I received the letter to show them and if I was experiencing problems pertaining to the defect then they would fix it free of charge. Although I haven't gone in to get it fixed do to me working all the time. Don't know if this will help anyone but I have an 06 ram 1500 4.7 liter. It could be worth checking into.

kjtc6-- I had the letter of extended warranty from the chrysler corporation covering the replacement of the multi-function switch about 2 years ago. My blinkers started doing the EXACT same thing yours is doing last friday. I took it in to have the switch replaced. IT DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM! I am on a mission to find the problem and post the remedy. If someone already knows how to fix this, PLEASE by all means make it easier on all of us currently and in the future.

Had a diagnosis done today at a top rated local auto electric shop for the turn-signal issue. They said the problem is actually in the trailer tow wiring harness under the bed and is affecting the rest or the circuitry. Something about a brown and a green wire, the trailer brake/tail light circuit. I was told that if I were to pull the fuse for the trailer light circuit, the problem would go away. I pulled fuse #15 and voila! Now I just have to locate where the wires are actually crossed and better insulate them. I'm just afraid that the problem wires are in the harness located in the frame rail along the side of the tank, requiring removal of the tank.

Final diagnosis on the turn-signal issue on my 06 Ram.. The 4-pin trailer electrical connector had corrosion under the weather-tight cap. Go figure!

I have the same problem with my rear lights. Left turn signal flashes all my rear lights. Turn lights on and they work normally. I tried the above, pulling the fuse, but that didn't work.

Got mine fixed, thank goodness. My problem was a set of side shine LED switchback strip I had installed under my headlights. The driver side one was throwing feedback into the parking lights when it was turned on to blink. They looked good on the headlights, but there gone now and my taillights function correctly now.

I have an 03 Ram 1500 w/ 5.7 hemi and had the same problem. I found that if I turned on and off the 4 ways or went from low beam to high beam the problem went away. So it would suffice to say the multi switch needs to be replaced.

I wish I would have seen these posts earlier. I posted a thread earlier today about the same thing going on with my truck. Definately some things to look into on my truck. It was suggested to me to check the tail light circuit boards as the poster had a hairline crack in one of his allowing water to leak into it and causing problems. I will repost with what I find on my truck.
